Low temperature extracted ginger powder and oil for natural digestive health application.

Zingiber officinale (Ginger) is a tropical and subtropical cultivated plant, belongs to Zingiberaceae family and it is closely related to other spicy plants such as turmeric (Curcuma longa). Ginger rhizome contains a combination of aroma oils such as volatile and nonvolatile oils, pungent compounds (gingerols and shogaols), carbohydrates such as starch and saccharides, proteins, coloring agents and trace minerals. The pungency of fresh ginger results from a group of phenols, the gingerols, of which [6]-gingerol is the most abundant. Interestingly, the quality and quantity of biologically active constituents of ginger depend on its cultivation practices and how is processed. Ginger was consistently reported to ameliorate motion sickness, morning sickness associated with pregnancy, hyperemesis gravidarum (excessive vomiting associated with pregnancy), chemotherapyinduced nausea and nausea after surgery. Ginger G extract is derived from Zingiber officinale root and standardized to contain 5% gingerols by means of supercritical CO2 extraction.
